Tell me more about Smart Lipo in Poland

Also known as Laser Lipolysis or Lunchtime Lipo, Smart Lipo has been available in Poland for some time and proven to be very popular with both Polish patients and patients from outside of Poland alike. Smart Lipo is a minimally invasive alternative to Liposuction which can be used to break down fat deposits on the chin, hips, knees, stomach and thighs. Fat deposits are broken down by a safe, powerful laser that is inserted by a fine cannula, and are then eliminated naturally.

How does Smart Lipo work?

A laser which is 0.3mm in diameter is inserted via a cannula into the adipose tissue. The laser destroys fatty cells causing the elimination of fat from the system. Not only does this eliminate fat, it also increases the tension of the skin, giving it a lifting effect. The elimination of fat takes place mainly during the procedure, although a further 30-40% will be excreted in the following 3 months.

I have heard about Smart Lipo “with aspiration” – what is this?

Aspiration can be incorporated into Smart Lipo – it means that the fat cells are removed during the procedure, giving instant results. Aspiration is however only applied on large areas such as the abdomen and waist.

Is Smart Lipo suitable for everyone?

Smart Lipo is not a solution for weight-loss, nor is it a treatment for obesity. It is most effective on patients who are otherwise fit and healthy, yet have areas of fat that they cannot eliminate through diet and exercise.

How much does Smart Lipo cost?

The price of treatment depends on the clinic and on the areas to be treated. Although prices typically start from €860 in Poland. By e-mailing photographs of the areas to be treated to the surgeon, a more accurate quotation can be obtained.

Are weekend appointments available?

With prior arrangement, Smart Lipo procedures in selected private clinics in Poland can be scheduled for a Saturday. Appointments are subject to availability.

Will Smart Lipo hurt?

Smart Lipo is performed under a local anaesthetic, so you should not feel anything during the procedure. An anaesthetic gel is applied to the areas to be treated, followed by 2-3 anaesthetic injections.

What about after-care?

You should typically allow at least one full day to recovering from Smart Lipo before flying home. In most cases, the surgeon will carry out a final consultation on this day. Avoid any strenuous activities during your recovery period, and allow approximately seven days before returning to work. You will be required to wear a surgical garment for up to one month following treatment.

The surgeon may give specific after-care advice depending on your condition. It is important to follow this carefully in order to minimise the risk of complications.

What are the side-effects of Smart Lipo?

You may encounter some bruising and minor bleeding as well as some discomfort for a short while following treatment.

How soon will I be able to see the results of Smart Lipo?

The immediate results will depend on the amount of fat in the areas to be treated. While the elimination of fat takes place during the procedure, the overall results of Smart Lipo will be visible approximately 3 months afterwards, as a further 30-40% of the fat is gradually excreted.
